當年今日的巴郡

講到公司, 走左Controller, 走左VP, 走左CFO, 母公司為我們在美國找來幫手. 我的temp老細經常自認是老人家, 從他身上我學曉許多人事管理之道. 以前Controller有一身衝勁, 事事為公司, 永遠都想到有什么可improve. 至於VP, 他的分析, 對保險業同會計制度的認識, 是我所佩服不已. 在他們身上我學到很多很多.

股市 3月份波動得好厲害, 利率一減再減, 兩者都會令公司盈利下降, 所以公司班精算, CFO, 我temp老細都好worry. 同temp老細講起最近大跌市.

老細話:「Warren Buffett said, "u should buy when everyone is worry and sell when everyone is greedy."」Billy答:「Yes, but how many people can actually do it. If everyone do it, then Warren will not be the richest person in the world.」

老細:「That's true. You know i work for Berkshire Hathaway(巴郡) before in 1977 to1980.」Billy:「Did you buy any shares?」老細:「No!!(一臉無奈), at that time is only $300/share, and now...$130,000. I should buy it. My co-worker bought 10 shares, not sure whether he still hold it or not. I worked for the CFO, they all hold 1,000s shares. They must be really rich now.」

我最有興趣知道:「Warren said that the head office has only 19 employees, is that true?」老細:「At that time, there was only 5.」其實能夠work with Warren Buffett, 一個如此卓越的人本身就是一份榮幸. 在他身上(即使沒有其股票)一定獲益良多.

Temp老細另一樣值得我學習的是:「i will do it.」同「this is not Financial Reporting's job, we won't take it. X-VP can do it on his own, I can't, I am not him, and i need your help to get it done.」究竟幾時take ownership, 幾時認低威, 比人做? 或者公司, 家庭, 教會都要知道. 畢竟, 股神只有一個, 救世主亦只有一個, 慶幸都不是你和我. 唔需要將所有人所有事攬上身, 但神要你做, 你千萬別好認低威, 不然的話, 你在教會, 公司, 家庭, 在 世上的價值是什么?
